Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers

We liked the communications through the process. Weekly updates we nice and gave us a cange to go over any concerns. The design process was a little rough as we had to make several changes to siding during the process. Also it would be nice if there was more of an options list or guide that was avaliable as far as windows, HVAC, etc.. There were a few times that we were unaware of things we could add that we may have.

I’ll draft an email to the construction VP again. [name removed] has been phenomenal since he took over as the construction manager. We have all been constantly ill since moving in this house. Especially me who is in the home more than my other family members. Besides the shoddy construction and materials that were used I’m unable to take on the full time job of coordinating your contractors. And I think something in this house is making me, my husband, and my two children ill.

Did not get a response to my question about the function of one of the electrical switches in the house.

I liked how quick the handle things when something was broken or not done correctly. They made sure all the work requested was taken care of without hesitation

This question is very broad, considering it is at the beginning of the survey. One dislike was the difficulty in picturing various options in the design process (our house was left garage, but the model home and brochure pictures were right garage; or there were no walk-in showers (master bath option) that we could see - and found out late in the process that there was no door). Perhaps to fix this you could have pictures or graphical models of options that aren't in the model homes. I liked working with [name removed] and her team; we threw many questions at them throughout the whole process and she always followed through with an answer which allowed us to make the decisions we needed to.

Everyone at Consort was extremely helpful and kind. The entire process was very smooth and stress-free. I would’ve liked a wider variety and higher quality product options to select from.

We like everyone we have worked with. Did NOT like the grade in the back yard. With a flat yard, I didn't expect all to drain through my yard. I have lost around 20 trees. I have added a drain, raised my trees and have lost another 8 trees.

I feel like our concerns were just ignored towards the end of process. A lot of things felt like they were rushed at the end and ended up just being sloppy work. For example our carpet was cut short on the width of our stairs and now there is a gap between the wall and the end of the carpet. Or our handrail down the stairs almost came out of the wall completely on our walk through. Just poor quality work which makes concerned about other areas of the house.

The salesman, construction manager all walked me through and answered all questions professionally and thoroughly. The quality of the building materials, structure etc. were excellent. The finishing touches and design choices were very nice. My only issue was that the grader buried gravel and a few boards in my yard which I only discovered when I was landscaping.

I was generally very satisfied with the majority of the buying and building process with Consort Homes. However, there was one significant miscommunication regarding our walk-out property. We were not informed that there would be no access from the main floor to the outside, which is a major functional issue for the home. Given the rising costs of decks, this is an important detail that should be clearly communicated during the process. Not having access from the back door of the main floor is a major hindrance to the home's functionality, and it’s now an out-of-pocket expense that could have been included in the mortgage.

Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.
