The overall quality is good. there are several places that disappointed me: 1. Scars on the driveway and sidewalk; not enough care was taken during construction to avoid scars on concrete and it was found acceptable for delivery. Prominent scars degrade the curb appeal. 2. Not offering bedroom door knobs on all bedrooms. 3. General attention to detail somewhat falls short.

It was a smooth experience. Everything went smooth from searching house to closing and specially post closing was helpful too

Warranty service is fine but the overall quality of construction is not worth the price a buyer is paying. Payed $3000 for cabinet paint which is not up to the mark, have had painters work on this a few times already but there are still areas that are rough. Might have been be lot better off doing a factory painted cabinets than a on site painted ones. The house is almost 1 million but the fence installed is cheap side to side. At this price point customer expects better quality, it feels like it’s just another way of cutting costs.

The director failed to grant us meeting we requested for twice when we wanted to negotiate closing date. Which I feel wasn't good for customer management. However, [name removed] was quite good with managing all scenarios. The Dryer wall vent and socket orifice isn't the standard used for all homes, I was at Home depot and they confirmed ours was eccentric.

The sales person once we approached closing was not accomodating to our already discussed request regarding our closing date. Since we were selling within the same week, we had to rely on others in order to move forward with own closing date and our sales person threatened to charge is for 2 additional days knowing we were at other's mercy. Also, we have a few issues we need fixed in which we will consult with [name removed] on. [name removed] is great!

Overall warranty experience was great, however there were several issues that were "take it or leave it". One of the most frustrating experiences were canned lights: they are installed throughout the house, they cannot be upgraded to have a more powerful "bulb" (you get std LEDs), they are installed poorly (not flashed and tight with the ceiling, there are spaces where bugs get in and are visible inside the lights) - and there is nothing Normandy can do. Replacing them - even in one room - was about $1700.

Overall, the experience very good. The only negatives I see: 1. None of the bedrooms came w/ ceiling fans - especially the MB. 2. No pendent lights over the kitchen island. 3. No keypad install to open the front door. 4. I had to ask for window blinds. My last house I purchased new was a Trophy Signature in [name removed] and number 1, 2, 3 and 4 was completed w/o asking. My understand is Normandy is supposed to be a high quality home than Trophy (and I can see it is), but was a little taken back that the extras (1-4) wasn't included.

I liked the communication from [name removed]. She was very responsive to calls and emails and she sent updates. The construction managers took all the time that was needed to complete the orientation and explain everything. Everything was very thorough.

Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.
